About
The flight planning series builds knowledge required for aviation navigation, from planning to flying a route and then landing. The series of sessions will begin by laying out a method to identify and describe the essential planning steps. Participants will construct a plan that is developed each session with attention to different planning and flight stages. Paper and whizz wheel skills or electronic flight bag skills can be applied. Flight into controlled airspace, including preparing and submitting flight plans and SAR times, will conclude the series. This session: We will learn how to calculate and ensure the aircraft's weight and balance are within safe limits for optimal performance and safety during flight. Recommended to bring: Electronic Flight Bags (EFB): Avplan or Ozrunways subscriptions. Use a free trial of EFB if you are not yet familiar with them. Having an iPad or a computer with you will assist.
