About the event
Fly-In Invitation: April 27-28, 2024, West Sale Airport
On behalf of event organizers, all aviators are invited to attend the Anzac Weekend Airshow at West Sale Airport. This event welcomes all types of light aircraft, with no landing fees and 24-hour fuel availability (Credit Card accepted). The preferred runway will be 09/27 (1800 meters sealed), and free passes to the airshow will be provided to all aviators. Additionally, free camping facilities are available for visiting pilots.
Fly-In Schedule (both Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th April):
- 7am – First light
- 7am - 10.30am – fly-in arrival window (all fly-in aircraft to be on the ground)
- 10.30am – 3.30pm – Airshow performance window
- 3.30pm – fly-in aircraft departure window opens (earlier departure by individual consultation)
2024 Anzac Weekend Airshow - Visiting Pilot Information: Visitors flying in will receive free entry to the airshow and camping if required. Pre-registration for aircraft flying in is necessary to secure booking and placement. Day visitors and overnight visitors are directed to designated areas, with parking spaces allocated based on availability. The campsite offers amenities such as toilets, showers, and a BBQ area, with a courtesy bus available for transportation to the airshow site and Sale. Exhibitors with aircraft parked in public places are required to adhere to designated guidelines for display and departure.
Flying In: Aircraft flying in must be on the ground by 10.45 am each day and cannot depart before 3.00 pm. Local traffic will not be controlled, and aircraft in the circuit area should monitor and call on CTAF 118.3. After landing, aircraft should contact ground control for further instructions, with fuel available on-site 24 hours.
Departure: Careful consideration for engine starting and departure procedures is advised, with assistance available upon request. Aircraft departure may be delayed to facilitate safe operations, particularly during peak departure times. Pilots are encouraged to monitor active runways and patterns and communicate intentions accordingly.
