Event Rules &
Conditions of Entry
1. Eligibility
-
All pilots must hold a current and valid licence appropriate to the aircraft being flown (RA-Aus or CASA as applicable).

Current medical (if required) and flight review (AFR/BFR) must be valid on the day of competition.

Pilots must comply with the operating limitations of their licence and aircraft category.
-
Students may participate only with instructor approval and supervision where required.
2. Aircraft Requirements
-
Aircraft must be airworthy and legally registered.
-
All maintenance and required inspections must be current.
-
Weight and balance must be within limits for the competition configuration.
-
Aircraft hired must be booked in advance and operated in accordance with club procedures.
-
The Chief Flying Instructor (or delegate) reserves the right to deem any aircraft unsuitable for a specific event.
3. Safety
-
Safety is the overriding priority at all times.
-
Standard Bendigo Airport procedures apply, including radio calls and circuit operations.

All CASA/RA-Aus regulations must be complied with.
-
Any unsafe conduct may result in immediate disqualification.
-
Judges’ decisions regarding safety breaches are final.
-
A safety briefing will be mandatory for all competitors.
4. Conduct of Events
-
Events will be conducted in accordance with published VLAC procedures and scoring criteria.

Competitors must attend the relevant briefing before participating.

Order of flight will be determined by organisers.
-
Weather minimums will be set by the event director and may exceed legal minima.
-
Events may be modified, delayed, or cancelled due to weather, traffic, or operational considerations.
5. Spot Landing Events
-
Landings must be conducted as specified for the event.
-
Go-arounds are permitted for safety but may incur scoring penalties (as briefed).
-
Any unsafe landing technique may result in disqualification from that round.
-
Scoring is based on when the wheels make contact with the ground for the last time in case of a bounce.
6. SIM & Ground Events
-
SIM exercises will be conducted under supervision.
-
No external assistance is permitted during timed or assessed components.
-
Ground quiz responses must be the competitor’s own work.
7. Insurance & Liability
-
Pilots fly at their own risk.
-
Organisers accept no responsibility for damage to aircraft or personal property.
-
By signing up, competitors acknowledge and accept these conditions.
8. Photography & Media
-
The event may be photographed or filmed.
-
By entering, competitors consent to images being used for promotional purposes unless otherwise advised in writing.
9. General
-
The Event Director’s decision is final.
-
The organisers reserve the right to amend rules if required for safety or operational reasons.
-
Good sportsmanship is expected at all times.
